This piece comes from a photograph I took during my artist residency in Italy. I’ve always loved the warm yellow streets at night and the way they seem to hold onto the light long after the sun has gone down.
Something I keep thinking about when looking back at my time there is how sometimes you don’t even realize you’re standing in a memory you’ll eventually miss. It’s usually the ordinary moments that stay with me most, and those are the ones I find myself wanting to paint.
